Merry Christmas! Hope everybody had a wonderful holiday eating. We are still at the Chercka's in Slimminge and will continue here until tomorrow. Some of our Christmas extracurricular activities that are slightly different from the states include: putting the tree up on the 23rd, dancing around it Christmas Eve while singing carols or opening presents the day before Christmas after enjoying a big feast. Here in Denmark it is not Merry Christmas, but Glaedelig Jul. In the Chercka family there is a traditional reading from the Bible and a Christmas walk through the forest. We added a few things this year by playing badminton in the evening of Christmas Day and the guys played soccer with a group of friends from our church on the 26th. We have eaten duck and homemade meatballs called frikadelle.
Everything was lovely to say the least. The only thing I am not looking foward to is going home. (When the fantasy is over and all the children are gone, there is something deep inside me, that helps me to carry on...) It has been such a great celebration for us all. BUT New year is coming soon and I have a surprise for all my subscribers the day after tomorrow. Stay tuned!
My love and warm holiday wishes to you all, God Nat og God Jul!
