As many of you know Simon and I love music. Ever since I was in middle school and The Pixies, Concrete Blonde and The Connells existed I have been a big fan of alternative rock. In Simon's early years, as an intense skateboarder with a mohauk, he was a fan of punk rock. Bands such as NOFX and Rancid were his main focus. As we grew up, our lifestyles changed and so did our music. Now, with music to wake up and to wind down to; music to ride on the train with and eat dinner to, Simon and I are certain that it has enrinched our lives. I could go on and elaborate forever about how music has culturally and historically affected and influenced our way of living but I am just trying to communicate why it comes in as the #8 thing to do when it is hace frio outside.

When I moved to dk I have had the oppurtunity to see many concerts. This past winter alone Simon and saw Coldplay, Jose Gonzalez, The Sounds, Brighteyes and Snow Patrol. It is not exactly fun to be outside in the cold during a dk winter, but it is fun however to get on a train and make a quick dash to the nearest concert hall. It is warm at these places and for some quite sweaty. Not to mention, going to concerts is a very easy way to be entertained! All you have to do is look online and provided for you is around 10 music venues to choose from. Find you favorite band and sadan! You have your evening planned!

Unfortunately, along the way we have not seen many Christian bands play and before last night I had only seen Third Day while Simon saw Hillsong London last year. It is not because we choose to avoid them but because it is seldom that they come to town. This was a really exciting experience. I went with two worship leaders (my husband being one of them), who at the end of the day, felt very encouraged by Delirous? and Reuben Morgan's performance. We also saw many of the kids that we work with everyday, which was cool, but they were in the mosh pits most of the time:)

So now you know where we stand musically and what we like to do to get out of the house while staying OUT of the cold!
