Simon and I spent our last day antiquing (so much fun for a guy. If he didn't have his camera he would have probably hitchhiked home). We found a really good deal on a beautiful lantern that has replaced an empty corner in my living room. We also bought stuff on sale. I think the best part was the curious creatures that we found living among the pretty things. The cat you see in the pictures followed us around throughout our entire tour. Cute!

We are home now and it is time to hunker down for winter aka. Christmas. Danes just assume that the next three months is "that time of year again", which I have grown to enjoy. People get together within their houses talking by the fire while smelling cinnamon all day. In school the children will be making things that include nuts, berries and cinnamon. The teachers will having a hyggelig time together planning devotions and what julpynt (yul poont) to make while sipping on there tea hinted with cinnamon. Tonight I made a yummy chowder along with deer meat sausage and bread, but earlier Melanie and I had some cake and some...you got it...cinammon buns. I guess it is a lot like home except a lot more tea and cinnamon.

Egg nog anyone?
