Simon and I were out taking pictures the other night with Daniel and Melanie and figured you might want to have a look at a Danish Beach. We live on the Baltic Sea aka. Koge Bay (Yes, I said "BAY") so unfortunately there is not any "dawn seshies at the pier." We do however have a great sea-front landscape which consists of grassy plains and sandy shores. The water temperature is probably warmer than that...say of the...Outer Banks since the Atlantic mightov topped 70 degrees there this summer. Also, in contrast to the the legendary Kitty Hawk, Avalon and Nags Head Piers that stand so tall and proud we have skinny piers. The Danes usually jump from them in calm seas which is quite different from the brave that attempt hurricane swells (I have done this once in my life and that was from Johnny Mercer Pier http://www.wrightsville.com/jmpeir2.htm...not for waves, however).
What is the water like? One will be greeted with a tremendous amount of seaweed as they wade into the calm Baltic but after three giant steps they will discover nothing but sand and sometimes a critter or eight. I like to think of our beaches and this big body of water similar to The Great Lakes. You think I should take up windsurfing? Synchro swimming?
